According to a notice on the town web site, the Selectmen’s office hours will be reduced starting June 22, to Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 11a.m. to 3p.m. The Monday office hours are no more.
Town clerk hours remain unchanged and can be found here. In general they are Tuesday’s and Thursdays 10am to 4pm, Wednesday evening 6:30 to 8:pm and a random Saturday morning (actually the last Saturday of the month).
At the June 9 selectmen’s meeting, the town clerk informed the selectmen that if the Governor signs recently passed HB258 it “allows the clerk fee for registrations to increase from $1 to $2″. This is from an email from the tax collector’s association, the actual bill text seems to indicate that the increase is not optional.
The selectmen were happy that this would not raise town taxes (or at least they weren’t the ones raising them). The fee change will potentially happen effective July 1, 2015.
On a related note, the NH State Department of Motor Vehicles (NHDMV) is discontinuing support for the T1 line used by the clerk to process car registrations. So now the town will be using its internet connection and pay for the related security software that DMV requires.
Town clerk was told by the selectmen to go ahead and start implementation and service contract for the shift.
another “no expense service” becoming expensive?
