Senior Breakfast at Mason Elementary School
The Kindergarten Class at Mason Elementary School is hosting our Senior Breakfast Program this year. All Seniors from Mason are invited to join us every third Friday of the month at 9:15. Chef Deb will have a wonderful breakfast that varies from month to month. Each month our class will perform a song or poem; create a simple gift to give to the seniors and have an activity or game to do with the seniors.
In September, the Seniors dined on French Toast with local maple syrup along with bacon, coffee/milk and fruit for a suggested donation of $3.00. The students sang a song about the life cycle of the butterfly; showed the Monarch caterpillars we are raising in our class; presented a notebook and pen set made in the shape of a butterfly and ended with the seniors reading butterfly books to the students. We hope you can join us on the following dates: Oct. 18th, Nov. 15th, Dec. 20th, Jan. 17th, Feb. 21st, March 21st, April 18th and May 16th.
Note that for every program with a silver lining, we sometimes wonder how the school’s accounting department keeps track of the miriad of federal breakfast subsidies for eligible students and seniors. – Wentworth
