Mason School District Expects to Return $70,000

Mason, NH, June 14, 2016 – Superintendent Jim McCormick reports that the Mason School District expects to return $70,000 of unspent funds to the town fund balance.

This does not mean that that town has an extra authorization to exceed its annual budget, but rather that one might see an article like “raise and appropriate from fund balance” next year. The other alternative is to reduce the town tax rate.

In other matters, the district is decommissioning excess computer equipment. What is not wanted by the town could be given to families.

The selectmen were interested in two 19″ monitors and possibly a computer upgrade for the highway department.
