Mason Outdoor Entertainment Zoning

At its March 30, 2016 meeting, the planning board accepted selectman Lavoie’s presentation of the selectmen’s proposed Zoning Ordinance amendment. The board scheduled the first public hearing for April 27, if changes are made at that time there will be a second hearing.

There was almost no discussion of the amendment itself, just a lot of excuses as to how the selectmen managed to maneuver themselves into eventually calling a special town meeting for a town vote on said amendment.

In the past the selectmen have used the fact that outdoor entertainment is not specifically listed as an allowed use to shut down activities at Marty’s Driving Range; only indoor uses appear to be allowed (see Article VIII of the Zoning Ordinances).

A $2000 special town meeting to cover over past bad advice and mistakes?
